Altinkum
Altinkum is a popular and friendly beach resort, with many return visitors. The local Turkish people are friendly and welcoming and many speak very good English.
From Dolphin Square at one end of the promenade right the way along the beachfront are souvenir, jewellery and clothes shops. At one end of the promenade is a little harbour where you can book one of the many boat trips or catch the ferry to the town of Bodrum.
Altinkum has a fantastic range of restaurants serving most forms of international cuisine, although Turkish and traditional English predominate.
On Saturdays there is a huge local street market in the main town (Didum) selling everything from “designer” t-shirts to fresh figs.
Altinkum is not as hectic as some of the major Turkish resorts can be - however, there is still plenty of after-dark entertainment and fun to be had. The nightlife is centred mainly around Dolphin Square and in the bars along the sea front and offers everything from music bars to pubs with pool tables. At the other end of the sea front is Medusa, an open-air night club.
